This group was on hiatus as of August 2021, however it restarted trained drive operations on September 1, 2021. Sometimes, the group will have multiple maps open to accommodate both free drive and trained drive operations, especially if an event is occurring in a group locked map. Sometimes, historic buses are also available to the public. MTA also operates historic and admin buses for the benefit of bus fans, where it is possible to also get rides while the buses are in service.
This division has also received most of the group's fictional units as a result. In mid-2021, the group gained access to NTA's Myrtle bus division, converting it to a free drive and therefore acquired NTA's original bus fleet. Buses that are not available on WAVE use a modified version of the A-Chassis. Initially, the group operated on maps built by Dopamine998 that simulated real life services in New York City using leaked buses but then transitioned into WAVE models. The group initially operated A-Chassis buses that were ex-NTA, however they plan to add Orion VIIs in the future, initially planned by BRUG Tech but changed to in-house. MTA is also heavily reliant on the WAVE Chassis which has been regularly updated through RUBI Industries. The group was founded as one of the few hybrid groups, which initially allowed anyone to drive and ride at any free drive maps on certain days of the week and attend group runs when trained drive operations are running.
